Spa Day Scrub And Mask

Written by Eydie Desser

MAY WE have a spa day and feel beautiful!  Hi!  My name is Ashley, and I am a recipe developer and food photographer for Garden Of Eydie.  When Eydie approached me to write some all natural spa day recipes, I was beside myself!  I love everything to do with beauty and skincare, and I have done my fair share of research over the years.  In fact, there have been many days, which I am sure Eydie can attest, that I have walked into her kitchen proudly proclaiming that I have found the world’s greatest and newest product for perfect skin!  Of course, nothing is perfect, but here are my 2 favorite recipes that I’ve written for glowing and clear skin.  Coffee Turmeric Scrub and a Coconut Oil Mask!

Ingredients

Coffee Turmeric Scrub:

Coffee is an excellent exfoliator, especially when mixed with an oil such as olive to produce a soothing scrub that only cleans, and NEVER strips the skin!  Turmeric is fantastic for brightening your skin.

  • 4 tbsp coffee grounds
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric

Coconut Oil Mask:

Coconut oil is one of the most moisturizing oils out there.  People even put it in their hair if it’s dry..Now add some baking soda to take care of problematic skin such as acne or imbalanced pH levels…you’ve got yourself an incredible face mask.

  • 2 tsp raw coconut oil
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Instructions

Coffee Turmeric Scrub:

1- Place all ingredients in a small bowl and mix with a spoon.

2- Wet face and gently rub scrub onto face in a circular motion.

3- When you feel properly exfoliated, rinse off scrub and follow with coconut oil mask.

Coconut Oil Mask:

1- Place ingredients in a small bowl and mix with a spoon.  DO NOT melt coconut oil.

2- Gently spread mixture onto face, evenly distributing it onto your skin.  I used a makeup brush, but you can use your fingers.

3- Leave the mask on for 5 minutes then gently rinse off with warm water.

4- Follow with your regular night time routine!
