Alcohol Free Sparkling Rosé Wine Rose Yay!

Written by Eydie Desser

Strawberries are part of the Rose Family (Rosaceae) and I’m having some girlfriends over for a “wine-not” party using alcohol free drinks. For the occasion, I wanted to use a rose family fruit to make a sparkling Rosé wine, without alcohol! Through a little experimenting and a lot of fun, the Garden of Eydie Rose-Yay wine was created.

You can also create our Sparkling Brut Rose-yay, made with raspberries, which are tart and make for a “drier” tasting sparkling Rose-yay,  compared to the more fruit forward strawberry infused blend.  By the way,  raspberries are also a fruit from the Rose Family!

I can’t wait to see which one you will create for your loved ones! Let’s get started with the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. strawberries, hulled and washed, juiced (yields 1 cup of juice)
  • 3 lbs. red grapes, washed, and juiced and strained (yields  3 cups of juice)
  • 32 oz. Perrier

Make the Base Juice:

  1. Juice the red grapes and strain through a fine mesh sieve to make 3 cups of juice. You may need to clean out the juicer halfway through the process as the pulp may clog the strainer.. Reserve.
  2. Juice the strawberries and strain through a fine mesh sieve to make 1 cup of juice.  You may need to clean out the juicer halfway through juicing as the pulp may clog the juicer. Reserve.
  3. Mix the juices together and chill until very cold.

To serve:

Fill champagne glasses 1/3rd full with the mixed juices. Top off with Perrier.
