As a kid I remember Icee’s being “born!”  Coca cola icee…yum.  My older brother, Jay, used to ride his bike to the convenience store, get the icees and bring it right back home to me and my brother Stephen.  Such a treat, but not so healthy!  My garden is full of sweet strawberries, and a strawberry “icee” was calling my name!

So yummy, so healthy and so refreshing, you and your kids will love it!

Strawberry Lemonade Icee

Servings: 4 Cups
  • 2 cups strawberries, washed and stemmed
  • ¼ cup lemon juice, or more to taste
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 3 TB Maple syrup, or more to taste
  • 2 cups ice

Using a blender, puree the strawberries, lemon juice, water and maple syrup.  Taste to see if more maple syrup is needed for sweetness or more lemon juice for freshness and add if necessary.  Add in ice cubes and blend just until crushed.
