Now you don’t have to go all the way to the movie theater to enjoy delicious and pricey popcorn.  This homemade version is even better and 10 times healthier.  It’s a perfect lunchtime snack or after school snack for your kids.  It’s sure to keep them thinking about you (and loving you!) even when they’re not with you.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag microwavable popcorn
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons creamy almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup maple sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 300℉

For the Popcorn:

Place the popcorn bag in the microwave and cook according to directions

Pour cooked popcorn on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Set aside.

Make the Caramel Coating:
  1. Place maple syrup and almond butter in a small saucepan over low heat.  Stir for 3-4 minutes until smooth.
  2. Add cinnamon and maple sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat and pour over the popcorn.
  3. Use a wooden or silicone spoon to stir and evenly coat the popcorn.
Bake the Popcorn:
  1. Place the sheet pan in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  2. Remove from the oven and let the popcorn cool to room temperature before serving

Turn on the TV and enjoy!
