Warm up your holiday season with this cozy, alcohol-free mulled apple cider—a festive treat that’s both delicious and healthy. This merry mocktail is a wonderful way to give your friends and family that autumnal hug in a cup!

Ingredients

For the Cider
  • 1 gallon organic, pure apple juice
  • 1 orange, sliced into thin rounds
  • 4 cinnamon sticks, broken in half
  • 2 star-anise
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 1/2 tablespoon allspice berries
  • 2 teaspoons black peppercorns

Directions

To Make:
  1. Pour all of the ingredients in a 4-5 quart pot. 
  2. Bring to a boil, cover, and turn the heat down to a simmer. 
  3. Simmer for 1 hour, or longer! Just make sure it is on a low simmer, and taste after 1 hour. If it tastes perfect, strain the liquid into another pot and discard the spices and fruit.
  4. The spices will infuse the apple juice to the most delicious warming cup of yum!
To Serve

Place in glass coffee mugs filled with a little slice of orange. Garnish with a cinnamon stick if you’d like.
