Warm up your holiday season with this cozy, alcohol-free mulled apple cider—a festive treat that’s both delicious and healthy. This merry mocktail is a wonderful way to give your friends and family that autumnal hug in a cup!
Ingredients
For the Cider
- 1 gallon organic, pure apple juice
- 1 orange, sliced into thin rounds
- 4 cinnamon sticks, broken in half
- 2 star-anise
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/2 tablespoon whole cloves
- 1/2 tablespoon allspice berries
- 2 teaspoons black peppercorns
Directions
To Make:
- Pour all of the ingredients in a 4-5 quart pot.
- Bring to a boil, cover, and turn the heat down to a simmer.
- Simmer for 1 hour, or longer! Just make sure it is on a low simmer, and taste after 1 hour. If it tastes perfect, strain the liquid into another pot and discard the spices and fruit.
- The spices will infuse the apple juice to the most delicious warming cup of yum!
To Serve
Place in glass coffee mugs filled with a little slice of orange. Garnish with a cinnamon stick if you’d like.
