Dr. Brooke Goldner, author of “Goodbye Lupus,” is not only beautiful and inspiring, but a brilliant doctor who healed herself of Lupus.  She was dying, literally, of the disease.  Her doctors told her she wouldn’t live more than a year.  Then she met a very handsome, smart and buff trainer, Thomas Tadlock. After a very short time dating, Thomas asked Brooke to marry him.  In turn, she asked him to get her in shape for their wedding. This Green Smoothie was part of the protocol, along with a whole food plant-based diet. She drank the smoothie everyday, got super strong with weights and her Lupus symptoms diminished greatly—an unexpected side benefit, after just a very few weeks of drinking it. Within a few more months, her Lupus was GONE!  They still drink their smoothie everyday, and so do her patients, flooding their bodies with nutrients and vitamins that fight free radicals and keep your body humming with health, no matter what ails you.

Equipment needed: High speed blender

Ingredients

Place in Blender in Order:
  • 1 pound mixed greens: such as kale, bok choy, spinach, romaine, swiss chard
  • ¼ cup whole, organic flaxseeds
  • 1-2 cups of chopped fruit of your choice:  pineapple, bananas, mango, mixed berries, melon, etc.  I like them frozen.
  • 5 cups filtered water

Directions

In the container of a high speed blender (Vitamix) pack your greens, first, to fill the container ¾ full. Add flaxseeds, then add fruit to reach the top of the blender.  Pour in the water.  Blend until super smooth.

Notes:
  1. Drink all day long…you must finish it.  And, say Yay for flooding your body with health!
  2. The smoothie will be bright green if using light colored fruit:  bananas are a must!, pineapple, peaches, mangos, kiwi, etc.  If using blueberries or blackberries the smoothie will be army green.  Both great at fighting any sinister goings on in our bodies.
