This lemonade is so delicious you’ll find yourself drinking it even when  you’re not “trying” to detox.   Hibiscus is not only great for the liver, it helps prevent hypertension, lowers blood pressure, and reduces blood sugar levels. The recipe contains honey, which gave me pause (sugar?).  Medical Medium says:  “Unprocessed honey in its raw, living form is nothing less than a miracle from God and the earth.  Those who are afraid that honey is just pure sugar and should be avoided, put your worry aside.  If you turn your back on honey, you’re missing out on its amazing health benefits.”  He says honey is saturated with more than 200,000 undiscovered phytochemical compounds and agents, protecting you from radiation damage, and has anticancer phytochemicals.  They shut down the cancerous growth process, stopping cancer in its tracks.

See why you’ll want to drink this amazing elixir on a regular basis?!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water, divided
  • 2 teaspoons dried hibiscus
  • 1/ 2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons raw honey

Directions

Make the Lemonade:
  1. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a small saucepan.  Remove the water from the heat and add the dried hibiscus flowers.  Allow the tea to steep for at least 10 minutes, then strain into a mug and place in the refrigerator to cool.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the remaining 3 cups of water with lemon juice and honey until the honey has dissolved and a smooth lemonade has formed.
  3. When the hibiscus tea has cooled, stir it into the lemonade base and drink it all day to your heart’s desire!
