Ch Ch Ch Wow! At Garden of Eydie we’re always looking for ways to increase the health benefits of sweet/dessert recipes.  This delicious healthy treat is a treat your body will love!

Chia seeds are tiny but huge in nutrient stature.  An excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, chia raises the good HDL cholesterol, is rich in antioxidants, provides fiber, calcium, iron and is a good source of protein.  Berries are antioxidant powerhouses-the miracle fighters of free radicals, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and anticancer benefits!

We like to eat this sweet and healthy treat for breakfast too. It’s a great way to start your day.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 4 tablespoons unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 ripe medium banana (about 8-inches long), sliced and frozen
  • ¼ cup blackberries (about 8)  frozen
  • ¼ cup strawberries (about 4-5) stem removed and frozen
  • 1 tablespoon date syrup

Directions

Place all of the ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
