What? Zero Calories?  Yes!  Researchers from Penn State noted that when diners are given a large salad with a no-fat salad dressing (about 50 calories), before serving a large pasta dish, the diners end up eating 100 fewer calories than if they hadn’t consumed the large salad beforehand!  This salad dressing does the trick.  It’s delicious, nutritious, and satisfying.  Now you can eat more and lose weight!  Dress a large salad of lettuce topped with raw veggies (think: cucumbers, carrots, celery, radishes, etc.), and then eat your entrée with guilt free delight!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup chopped cucumber
  • ½ cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1 garlic clove, minced, or more to taste
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
  • ¼ teaspoon ginger powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black cumin seed powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne, or more to taste

Directions

  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
  2. Pour to your heart’s desire on a big, beautiful, colorful salad of greens and raw veggies.
butterfly Cook's Notes:

If you don’t have black cumin, substitute sweet smoked paprika, or just leave it out.  The dressing will still be delicious.
