Sangria’s humble roots come from Spain, and is a hugely popular refreshing party drink around the world. This fruity punch usually calls for red wine but can leave you feeling like you want to recline!  We substituted the red wine with refreshing red beet juice, and it’s so delicious and energizing that you’ll feel like partying all night long, and wake up the next morning with happy memories of the night before!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups beet juice (from about 7 or 8 large red beets)
  • 2 cups green apple juice (about 3-4 green apples)
  • 1/2 cup lime juice or more to taste (about 4-6 limes)
  • 3 cinnamon sticks broken in half
  • 2 cups thinly sliced citrus: (limes, lemons and oranges)
  • 1/2 cup diced mango flesh

Directions

Mix juices and cinnamon in a beautiful 3- quart container.  Add chopped fruit and stir. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

butterfly Cook's Notes:
  1. Beet juice reduces blood pressure, increases stamina while exercising and muscular force, prevents progression of dementia, supports the liver, contains vitamin C and more!
  2. Recipe was inspired by Matthew Kenny Everyday Raw Express, a beautiful raw food recipe book.
